Flickr Showcases Best Of 2007

Outside murdok’s home office, it’s semi-cloudy, a bit damp, and somewhere in the 40s.  So if, like us, you’d prefer a nicer scene to look at, consider dropping in on Flickr’s Best of 2007 events.

The most stable Best of 2007 version was provided by Yahoo News; ten photos have been arranged in a slideshow that seems completely finished.  They’re interesting – the first shot is particularly eye-catching – but there’s more stuff (and, to be honest, more attractive stuff) available elsewhere.Flickr Showcases Best Of 2007

On the Flickr Blog, for example, Heather Champ is making a series of “Your Best Shot 2007” posts, and two samplers have already been added following the original announcement.  Again, there are some nifty photos, and more than ten of them this time.  Still, we’d like to take you an additional step, to the eight-page collection where many of these pictures were first highlighted.

The “Your Best Shot of 2007” thread challenged Flickr users to provide whatever they liked most out of all their (semi-recent) albums.  They came up with photos for every taste, and even if Yahoo and Flickr have done a fine job of condensing the thread into more manageable portions, we’d like to compliment them for calling attention to the original assortment.

This time of year is, after all, when everyone’s most likely to have time to look at the photos.  So if they can take you away from work – or even away from play – consider having a look at Flickr’s Best of 2007.
