You have to feel a bit bad for AOL and Goowy - here they are with a solid arrangement in place, and Microsoft's mammoth offer to Yahoo is all anyone can talk about. Ah, well. We'll try to toss a few paragraphs their way, and begin by pointing out that AOL acquired Goowy.
article on the acquisition (yes, yes, it's not being completely ignored), commenters came out in force to show their support. TechCrunch's own Duncan Riley wrote, "I always liked Goowy, one of the better in their class of web desktop and widget providers, and always nice to see the little guy get a decent pay day."
Also, one of Goowy's cofounders wrote a friendly post on the corporate blog following the acquisition. Among some more business-oriented statements, Alex Bard promised, "We will not become suits (or wear them unless it's a wedding)." That's the sort of thing we like to hear.
There's no solid word on that business front, though, so to see what AOL does with its new property, it looks like we'll all just have to watch and wait.
