AMD has the processor market seeing double as vendors begin falling over each other to pick up the new Opteron. "All aboard!" said AMD as it released the hotly anticipated Opteron series dual-core processor. And who has tickets for this bullet train? The passenger list is as follows: VIA Technologies AMD says that the new processors can deliver up to a 90 per cent performance improvement for application servers over single-core AMD Opteron processors. And from the look of the big names lining up to put Opteron in use, it appears to be true.
