eBay Blocking PS3 Presales

Trying to avoid a repeat of last year's X-mas Box 360 madness, where consoles were selling for as much as 10 times their retail price but not always making it to the purchaser, eBay has suspended preorder sales of Sony's PlayStation3. Due to be released next month, preorders for the highly anticipated game console have sold out from vendors nationwide, most likely to eBay opportunists buying out the 400,000 consoles allocated by Sony for the U.S. launch. A number like that guarantees a shortage, and a very high resale price. But it looks like eBay and GameStop have put the old kibosh on preordered sales this year.
