The company was accused of having a role in a big accounting fraud scandal at Enron. $2 billion is quite a large settlement, but it is not the most Citigroup has ever paid to settle a lawsuit. Previously, the company agreed to pay $2.58 billion to investors in relation to a scandal involving WorldCom.
