Exactly how much money it took to make YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen giddy as the schoolboys they are in this Google acquisition announcement SEC filing shows it's roughly equivalent to the gross domestic product of Djibouti. Google's YouTube buyout for $1.65 billion in stock was divided up among YouTube's tiny, and young, founding staff, who spent nearly two whole years building up a veracious audience as ridiculous in number as the buyout price. 100 million daily video streams leads back to a place that is Wall Street Journal, but gets to laugh at Hurley and Chen when they shriek "do I really look like that?" But the big winner was Sequoia Capital, who brought home Scrooge McDuck swimming money, or about $442 million. Rafat Ali over at singing lessons. Well, maybe not enough to cover those. Not even close, actually.
