LinkedIn Makes Search More Convenient

"One of the most important factors in ranking search results is the searcher’s network. This means that every matching search result is evaluated based on who is executing the search," says Kozak. "The end result is a personalized relevance algorithm that places the professionals that are most likely to be of interest at the top of the first search results page."

In addition to the above attributes, LinkedIn has come up with some productivity tools based on data obtained from over a billion search queries. The "In Common" feature for example, is a field in the search results that lets you find connections shared by you and other selected users (see image below).
