Oldest Human Bones Discovered

Scientists have discovered fossilized bones of what may be our first upright-walking relative. The bones were uncovered in February at a site called Mille, which is in the northeastern Afar region of Ethiopia. They are estimated to be 4 million years old. The fossils include a complete tibia from the lower part of the leg, parts of a thighbone, ribs, vertebrae, a collarbone, pelvis and a complete shoulder blade, or scapula. There also is an ankle bone that, with the tibia, which scientist state proves that this is a human-like find. One blogger takes issue with the way this story is being reported in the press. I find this interesting since I've noticed no one else questioning this news. Over at the blog, Anywhere But Here, Kris writes ...

Of course Kris is right ... It is an interesting discovery but the so-called scientific assumptions that this was the first human is a scientific stretch to say the least! Murdok | Breaking eBusiness News Your source for investigative ebusiness reporting and breaking news.
