The API is called the "Collecta Results Set" (CRS) API, and the company says developers already working with the Twitter API can quickly expand the capabilities of their real-time apps with this API's broad base of social media, established news sources, and unique content feeds.
Of course, Collecta isn't the only real-time search engine out there with an API. In fact,
OneRiot's Courtney Walsh says, "We launched the OneRiot API in June 2009 and already have 40+ partners across the web building innovative realtime web applications but this challenge will help make visual sense of the rich information within our API!"
