Twitter has warned its users that changing their account information may put their accounts in jeopardy, as the company has received numerous reports of people who are getting shut out of their accounts upon trying to do so.
"We’re currently researching reports from users who are locked out after trying to reset their passwords or change their email address or user name," the company says
Twitter says it is aware of the following error messages:
- "Wrong user name/email and password combination”
- "Sorry, we couldn't verify that this user requested a password reset."
"Please be aware that this has been prioritized to be fixed as soon as we can! DO NOT CHANGE YOUR USERNAME - this will also lock you out of your account!" warns Twitter
Twitter is asking users to be patient as it deals with the issue, and is asking for comments on the support thread. Those who are able to log-in can also @mention
