What Every Website Owner Needs to Know

If you have a website and you didn't design it your self or if your new to the web world there are a few things you will need to have and need to know. Note: this article is directed more towards the "newbie" webmaster. For anyone and everyone that owns a website. What do I need to know? When you are looking into maintaining or running a website there are a few things you will need to know. For starters here are a few things you need to know:

• Who you are being hosted by?

• If they offer a control panel of any sort?

• If the control panel is easy to navigate?

• If everything is done through this one control panel?

• Or if you have a separate panel for email?

• How do you access your files?

• FTP?

• Frontpage?

• Browser-based FTP?

• Do they offer support?

• Can you call them if you cant find something?

• Can you go through a FAQ(frequently asked questions)?

• Can you contact them via AIM? MSN? Yahoo? or ICQ?

• Where is your Domain registered?

• Is it registered through your hosting company?

• Or through a different company?
