Yahoo announced today that it is making its Yahoo oneSearch service available on the mobileWeb in the United States. The search service first launched in Yahoo Go for Mobile 2.0 is now available to 85 percent of mobile phones.

"

Yahoo oneSearch launched in January 2007 and was designed to make searching easier for users by providing results on the page such as business listings, images, news headlines along with simple to use navigation to other sites. An example would be if a user wanted to go to a movie they would type in the name of the movie in the search box and the search results would list the movie first, a user rating, local theaters where the movie is showing and news headlines related to the movie.

Yahoo's oneSearch for mobile will have sponsored search results and display advertisements as well. The company hopes to expand their advertising services through mobile and allow advertisers to reach more users across major mobile carriers. Users who are interested in an ad can click on it and visit the advertisers mobile Web site.

Yahoo has plans to make their oneSearch service available in other countries in the coming months.
