The pruning of extraneous services at Yahoo continues, as news emerged that the Yahoo Podcasts Beta will shut down on Halloween.
Peanut Butter Manifesto may have claimed another victim. The the site today, and this message appears at the top of the page: "Yahoo! apologizes deeply, but we will be closing down the Podcasts site on Oct. 31, 2007."
Both Mashable noted the writing on the wall for Yahoo Podcasts. Marshall Kirkpatrick and Adam Ostrow wrote on the respective blogs about alternatives to Yahoo, but only Kirkpatrick made a passing reference to the elephant sitting in the middle of the podcasting industry.
