Instead of beaming its digitized time capsule into space from the Pyramid of the Sun, Yahoo will have to settle for burying it in the ground like everyone else does.

Alas, it was not meant to be. Mexican authorities have denied Yahoo permission to conduct its laser beaming from the Pyramid of the Sun, fearing damage to the ancient historical site. It is taller than the Pyramid of the Sun, and people could watch it from the Mall after spending the day visiting the Smithsonian. Yahoo could make it a shorter trip and go down to L.A.
